The degree of polarization meter utilizes rotating dual wave plates to scramble the polarization and measure the degree of polarization (DOP). The rotation of wave plates causes less than 0.002dB deviation and barely affects the light's energy. This method is superior to the scrambler-based ones which result in more than 0.02dB light intensity variation. This new method offers faster test speed (0.5s), higher test accuracy (0.1%) and resolution (0.01%). It is optimized for low polarization applications and applicable for polarization detection and monitoring of light source.
